Dear AIM Utah Members:

Our next AIM General Membership Luncheon will be Thursday, April 14th, and you are invited to participate!

This will be in person, at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building!

The AIM Lunch will start at 11:45 am and we hope you can participate! We expect the meeting to last 60-90 minutes and many of your peers will be participating!

This month's featured topic is

The State of Broadband and 5g in Utah

We have two speakers who are experts in the topic:

Rebecca Dilg

Rebecca Dilg is the director of the Utah Broadband Center within the Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity. Her role is to facilitate broadband expansion, connectivity, and digital inclusion efforts collaborating with legislators, local communities, broadband providers, and statewide organizations. She is facilitates the state’s broadband availability maps, the Broadband Advisory Council, and is administering the state’s Broadband Access grant with the statutory priority to bring broadband to rural unserved areas.

Wintertime finds Rebecca cross-country skiing, reading a good book, playing the piano or oil painting. In the summertime she can be found in her garden in Willard—when she’s not in her broadband office.

Richard Leverett

Richard B. Leverett is currently the Director of External and Legislative Affairs for AT&T’s Mountain West operations covering state and local government and community relations in Utah, Idaho, and Montana. Before moving to Salt Lake City, Richard spent 7 years with AT&T Indiana where he was a registered lobbyist and hackathon host, all while promoting efforts to close the digital divide in communities through investment in infrastructure and technology education.

Before joining AT&T, Richard served as City Attorney and Chief of Staff in his hometown of Gary, Indiana and his tenure included national recognition for partnerships and innovative work that netted millions of dollars in new grants for the city and the launch of two apps and an open data website dedicated to city initiatives. During his tenure with AT&T, Richard has maintained his dedication to corporate community impact, serving on the boards of several community and civic foundations, colleges, and community financial institutions. Richard also advises numerous startup companies and apps.

Richard has a law degree from the University of Chicago, and bachelor’s degree from Butler University in Indianapolis, IN. Richard also holds certificates in Venture Capital from VC University and Privacy Law and Data Protection from Northwestern University.
