Emotional Intelligence:

Why it Matters, and How to Grow Yours

Each one of us is a unique creation. We all have different thoughts, feelings, desires, and goals. However, we also have many of the same patterns – including our habitual emotional patterns. We tend to operate in a reactive mode, merely interpreting incoming information and events, relating them to our previous experiences, and then responding without really being aware of why or how we’re doing it. As leaders, we need to take conscious control of our emotions if we are to respond effectively to the situations and challenges we face.

In “Emotional Intelligence: Why it Matters, and How to Grow Yours,” Kevin investigates the latest research on emotional intelligence and offers methods for incorporating techniques that will help leaders at all levels to become more aware of their own emotional patterns, and to create more resourceful and effective responses to the challenges of their environment.

Participants will be introduced to the processes that drive their emotions – mostly on an unconscious level – and they’ll learn some new tools and strategies to begin to take more control of their “inner world” and respond more effectively even in situations that might otherwise cause anxiety, frustration, anger, or fear. They’ll learn proven strategies for managing their own emotions, and those of the people they work with. These skills are essential to success, and account for 85-90% of the difference between outstanding leaders and their more average peers.

Our Speaker:

 Kevin Ciccotti

Kevin Ciccotti is a Certified Professional Coach, Speaker, and Trainer. For almost a decade, he has coached leaders from middle management to the C-suite in small-medium size businesses up to Fortune 500 companies. His clients cross many industries including financial services, technology and IT, manufacturing, gaming, mining, and water purification systems, to name a few.

Prior to starting his coaching career, he worked for more than 25 years for a $2.5 billion global leader in gaming manufacturing, with 16 years in management as part of the Product Development organization. Today, he works with organizational leaders to help them develop the interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence needed to more effectively lead their teams, including the often-overlooked ability to build strong relationships that lead to trust and sustain the team. His work leads to greater levels of engagement, and a deeper sense of meaning, purpose, and fulfillment in the work they do.

He also specializes in working with Project Managers to help them influence their teams and become more effective leaders. He has spoken at numerous PMI (Project Management Institute) events, including 2 PMI Global Congresses, and multiple regional leadership events. Kevin teaches his groundbreaking class, at the University of Nevada, Reno, as part of their Project Management Certificate Program, and it has become one of the most popular and highly rated classes in the program.

About Our Sponsor: LMNTRIX

WHAT:  LMNTRIX Adaptive Threat Response (ATR) is a validated and integrated threat detection and response architecture that hunts down and eliminates the advanced and unknown threats that routinely bypass perimeter controls.

HOW:  The ATR platform is a combination of real-time advanced network and endpoint threat detection, deceptions everywhere, full fidelity post-breach forensics capabilities, analytics and global threat intelligence technology.  These are complemented with continuous monitoring, best-in-class threat hunting both internal to your network and external, and analytics.  It operationalizes the entire security event lifecycle with a fully integrated security platform that fundamentally DOES NOT rely on logs or IOCs.  Since our base assumption is that systems are already compromised, our solution allows clients to take a proactive, offensive, military-like approach to security instead of a traditional reactive, defensive, civilian-like one.  In a time of continues security threats and hacks, there needs to be a fundamental shift from incident response to continuous detect and response.  Think of us as your military search party going door-to-door continuously within your network to find the bad guys.  What truly sets us apart from the pack is our team of cybersecurity professionals who continually monitor our client’s environments 24/7/365 days per year while simultaneously hunting threats internally as well as monitoring developments on the deep and dark web on the client’s behalf.

OUTCOME: What we deliver is simple – validated breaches with all the research, analysis and recommendations for them to take immediate action on.  Not an alert your team tracks down and verify.  Not more products that clients need to integrate and operationalize.  Clients gain a fully managed, security analyst delivered service that defends against known and unknown advanced persistent threats with monitoring, hunting, deceptions, inspection, and correlation from our cyber defense center 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year with little to almost no false positive alerts.
